  • THE GROOV COSMOS

A musical action-adventure, currently in development. The Groov Cosmos takes the aesthetics and standards of musical interaction established in my first game, Groov and integrates them into a fully-realized fictional universe. I am creating the game from scratch using a music game engine I developed in C# for my Yale senior thesis in Computing and the Arts.

  • GROOV

 

Groov is a musical dual-stick shooter where every action has a musical reaction. Nearly every piece of the soundtrack is produced by the player's actions; in turn the gameplay's intensity is dictated by the pacing and structure of the interactive composition. Created for Music 325 at Yale University in the fall of 2008 and released in January of 2009 onto Xbox Live Indie Games, Groov has received praise from numerous press outlets like Edge Magazine, 1Up.com, IGN.com, and Gamasutra.com and was nominated for a 2009 Inside Gaming Award for indie game of the year.

MUSIC

  • WAKING DREAM

A narrative journey through 15-tone equal temperament, harmonic just intonation and spectral music. Final project for Music 450b, Yale University (Spring 2011).

  • ADAGIO IN 15-TET

Solo electronic Rhodes piano, tuned to a 15 tone equal temperament. Composed for Music 450b, Yale University (Spring 2011).

  • NOSTALGIA THEME 

Examination of a theme. Flutes performed by Emily Ziffer. Final project for Music 312, Yale University (Fall 2009).
